Machine applied pallet wrap should be selected to match both your wrapping machine capability and your pallet load characteristics, ensuring stable containment, efficient film usage and the lowest possible cost per pallet wrapped. When machine type and film performance are correctly matched, higher yield and consistent load stability can be achieved without unnecessary film use.

Film Thickness (Micron / Gauge)
Film thickness and film formulation both influence puncture resistance and load security. Heavier or sharp‑edged pallets typically require higher micron or tougher film grades to reduce splitting and corner damage, while lighter, stable loads can often be secured with lower micron films and still allow for down‑gauging without compromising stability.
Matching Film to Your Wrapping Machine

High Stretch Films (Typically 250%+ Performance)
High stretch films are designed to deliver increased usable metres per roll when applied using machines with powered pre‑stretch systems. These machines actively stretch the film before it is applied to the pallet, allowing higher yield and lower film usage per pallet.

When matched correctly, high stretch films are well suited to high‑volume operations focused on reducing cost per pallet wrapped.

Standard and high‑performance films are designed for machines that control film tension through braking rather than powered stretch rollers. While these machines do not actively stretch the film, high‑performance or pre‑stretched film grades can still improve usable metres per roll and reduce film usage.
