Description

Innovative fabric for crop protection fabric perfect for straw or hay bales.

Agritel Toptex® Hay and Straw Covers – are a strong breathable agricultural fabric for covering stacks of straw and hay in the field.

  • Toptex has excellent water-shedding properties combined with air and vapour permeability keep crops dry while allowing them to breathe, preventing the build-up of condensation.
  • Offers a simple and highly cost-effective means of storing baled hay or straw outside.
  • 100% UV stabilised agricultural fabric, with a minimum life expectancy of three years.
  • It has high tensile strength and tear-resistance to withstand strong winds, extremely resistant to the wind, worlds apart from a silage sheet or a tarpaulin.
  • Dries quickly – even after heavy rain – making it ideal for the challenges of the UK’s variable climate.
  • Covers work at a slope of 45 degrees or steeper, flat areas should be kept to a minimum.
  • Toptex® fixing pins or fixing tape kits are recommended for securing the Toptex cover. Fixing pins are simply driven straight through the material and into the bale underneath, whilst fixing tape can be attached to sheet and held down by gravel bags – see Related Products below.
  • Tip: We recommend placing the lowest layer of bales on pallets so that the bales do not come into contact with the ground. In addition, make sure that the cover is always flat and well tensioned without creases. Toptex covers should be kept under tension and secured with suitable fixings.
  • Supplied and priced by the sheet. Sheets are boxed.

STACKING GUIDE

What our customers say: Don’t just take our word for it!

“The Toptex worked really well for us and we stored around 200 bales under cover this year as a trial; this allows us to free up shed space for other enterprises rather than bale storage. To date the bales coming out of the stack are every bit as clean and dry as those which have been stored in a shed!!” – Gordon, Scotland, 3 x 9.8m x 25m Toptex Cover

“Yes we used the sheet to save on shed space for the animals and it has been brilliant, as described. Would definitely recommend and maybe in the need to purchase another in the future.” – Kingsbridge, Devon, 1 x 9.8m x 12.5m Toptex Cover.

“I bought 2 of your Toptex covers , one for covering straw at my farm , another for covering hay at my partners croft to feed horses.
I am very happy with the covers, the hay has stored really well. I usually wrap the bales with plastic, but that can cause sweating and eventually mould. But the cover has stopped that.
Both covers survived the recent storm Otto, winds were measured here at around 70 mph. But both covers are still in one piece.
I am very happy with how they have performed.” –  Banff, Aberdeenshire, 2 x 12m x 25m Toptex Cover.

“The top text sheeting has solved all of our straw storage problems. No need a barn and super easy to use. 100% recommended.” – Overton, Wrexham, 1 x 9.8m x 12.5m Toptex Cover.

“The covers were really good, in spite of the high winds that were experienced this past winter.  The quality of the straw was 1st class as though it had been stored in a Dutch barn….. we are well pleased” – Aberlour, Scotland 2 x 12m x 25m Toptex Cover.
